We’ve gifted a couple thousand Stickmen in the past few years so we’ve learned a thing or two that may be helpful as you go on your mission to do random acts of kindness.
Tip #1- Be strategic about how you engage a giftee. A proven approach is to ask someone, “Do you have a favorite color?” as opposed to, “What is your favorite color?” The difference may seem subtle, but the results aren’t.
Tip #2- One’s color preference can differ day by day or by the situation, so pick a variety of colors. Purple has been the top requested color followed by blue and green.
Tip #3- If you know your opportunity to gift a Stickman will be brief, pick a color and offer it as a small reward for a job well done. You might say, “Great job! Here’s a little something for your keychain or backpack.”
Tip #4- Perhaps the most impactful scenario is to offer two Stickmen. First, gift the Stickman then ask if they have a co-worker or friend they would like to gift one to. Let them pick another Stickman so they can do their own random act of kindness.
Tip #5- Don’t be surprised by your ability to make someone else’s day brighter by simply gifting them a stickman. And don’t be surprised when the act of gifting makes YOUR day a little brighter as well.
